Diocesan Church School Camp Begins at All Saints Camp with Visit from His Eminence Archbishop Daniel
Diocesan Church School Camp Begins at All Saints Camp with Visit from Archbishop Daniel

Diocesan Church School Camp, a week-long program for youth ages 9-13 year old began its 48th encampment on Sunday June 25th. The program was blessed to have a special visit from His Eminence Archbishop DANIEL to begin the week.

Every year, the participants begin the program with a blessing of Holy Water that is then used to bless the cabins and buildings of the camp. His Eminence Archbishop DANIEL joined the campers and staff on the banks of the Allegheny River to bless the water. He spoke with the campers about how the water becomes blessed and encouraged them to take a sip of Holy Water and a bit of prosfora each morning to remind them of God's presence in their lives. He also shared the story of the efforts his parents had to go through to baptize him as a small child and asked about their baptisms and godparents.

His Eminence Archbishop DANIEL visited with the campers and staff during dinner, sharing stories and learning about their lives at home. He brought icon prayer cards for each of the participants that they will take home at the end of the week. We are very grateful for the love and support our Hierarchs show for the youth of our church.

The DCSC program is led by director Natalie Kapeluck-Nixon, Assistant Director Kira Senedak, and Spiritual Advisor Fr. Ivan Tchopko. The program concludes on Saturday July 1, 2023.
