УПЦ США Перебуває на «Передовій» Гуманітарного Служіння Народу України

The reality of the war in Ukraine – is a humanitarian crisis. Millions of people have no safe place to call home, with a reported eight million internally displaced within Ukraine. More than seven million people have already left Ukraine. Over half of them are children and most of the rest are women and the elderly. With rising food prices globally, neighboring countries to Ukraine have reported a sharp increase in food prices, resulting in basic food being more expensive than even in the U.S.

Responding to the basic needs for survival, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA continues to offer assistance with the logistical supplies of food and medical items. Working closely with the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, especially the hierarchs in the Eastern part of Ukraine, where people lost their homes and belongings and considered “displaced persons”, the Church finances the distribution of food and medical supplies in Kostyantynivka village (close to the devasted city of Donetsk), Dnipro, Sumy and Kharkiv regions. His Eminence Metropolitan Serhiy of Donetsk and Mariupol, along with the clergy and volunteers, oversee the transparent distribution of humanitarian aid.

Responding to the appeal for the need of smaller size medical vehicles and transport automobiles, the UOC of the USA financed and purchased 5 additional mobile car units that will serve the needs of transportation of the wounded and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the most devasted areas in the Eastern part of Ukraine.

UOC of the USA has been working since the start of the war in Ukraine to get critical aid to those who need it most. Through our Metropolia oriented programs and individual parish projects, we have physically transported tons of logistical supplies to the people both within Ukraine and displaced in its neighboring countries.
