Dear Brother in service to our Lord: CHRIST IS AMONG US!
It is with a profound sense of sorrow and sympathy that we write to express our prayerful support to you and your clergy and faithful at the repose of the soul of Blessed Memory, Metropolitan Theodosius, who served the Orthodox Church in America for so many decades as one of your predecessor Metropolitans. We knew His Eminence for many years as a friend and dedicated co-worker in our Lord’s Vineyard. His Eminence was a roommate of our own Metropolitan Constantine of Blessed Memory at St. Vladimir Seminary and these two maintained close contact and friendship throughout their lives and most especially concerning the relationship between our jurisdictions – regardless of the circumstances of life in those days.
We will serve a Memorial Service for Metropolitan Theodosius on the appropriate days following his repose, praying that our Lord will grant him a “blessed repose in the place where the Light of His Countenance shines upon him”. The Metropolitan’s life in retirement was not an easy one in terms of physical health, but this now ends and transforms into a life that the human mind is incapable of conceiving in its fullness.
May God bless you, Your Eminence, all your Brothers in the OCA Hierarchy, all your clergy and the faithful as you endure the sorrow of this time.
+ Antony, Metropolitan
+ Daniel, Archbishop
