Ієрархи УПЦ США прийняли участь у представленні Постійного Представника Вселенської Патріархії в Києві
While in Ukraine, the hierarchs of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA took part in a Vespers service for the feast day of Venerable Maximus the Confessor and the 36thSunday after Pentecost, at the Stavropegial St. Andrew the First-Called Apostle Church in Kyiv, Ukraine on Saturday, February 2, 2019.
At the conclusion of the liturgical service, His Eminence Metropolitan Emmanuel, Special Representative of the Ecumenical Patriarch for the Enthronement of the newly-elected Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine, presided over the introduction and installation service of the Patriarchal Exarch in Ukraine – Archimandrite Michael (Anischenko).
His Eminence Metropolitan Antony and Archbishop Daniel offered their greetings to the newly appointed representative of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Kyiv, wishing him the zeal of Holy Apostle Andrew, who according to the historic records visited the ancient hills of Kyiv and prophesied the great glory of the city of Kyiv and the entire Ukrainian land. Moreover, the hierarchs of the UOC of the USA expressed their willingness and desire to develop closer pastoral ministerial ties with the Representation of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Ukraine.
Among other representatives of ecclesiastical bodies and government officials were His Eminence Metropolitan Yuriy - Prime Hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada as well as Very Rev. Fr. Taras Udod - Chair of the Presidium of the Consistory of the UOCC.
