Historic Flooding In San Diego, California
San Diego, CA and our surrounding local community have been devastated as a result of widespread flooding from the unusual rain season, which occurred during the week of 16-23 January 2017. Our Protection of the Birth-Giver of God Ukrainian Orthodox Church’s sacred space, rectory and parish hall received flooding and damage.
The local insurance company is assessing the damage to the building, while the photos presented with this press release offer a glimpse to the exterior damage of the property. Preliminary insurance reports show a lack of financial assistance that the parish will receive from the provider.
The Consistory of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA appeals to all parishes, clergy and faithful of the Church to offer timely assistance in the time of need to a small community of Ukrainian Orthodox Christians in San Diego, CA Metropolitan area.
