Teenage Conference Encampment – Spiritual Success Again
The second session of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Camping Ministry, Teenage Conference, convened at All Saints Camp from July 10-23, 2016 forging into yet another year of spiritual success! Campers and staff joined together in the spirit of "Faith, Hope and Love", the TC 2016 theme.
The theme was woven throughout the fabric of the program from workshops, to games to the Ukie Olympics. Who is Christ? Where do we meet Him? What does this mean for salvation? These questions and more were explored, discussed and expanded upon. The camp welcomed various guest speakers, who thoroughly engaged their audience with workshops related to the theme as well as interactive Hot Topics sessions with the spiritual fathers of the encampment (Very Rev. Fr. John Harvey; Very Rev. Fr. Bohdan Hladio).
On Tuesday morning, July 19th – His Grace Bishop Daniel, accompanied by Fr. Vasyl Pasakas arrived to All Saints Camp for a day of spiritual reflection and conversation with the campers. Being welcomed with a traditional bread and salt by the campers and counselor of the Camp, Vladyka Daniel spoke to the participants of Teenage Conference about the importance of a CHOICE – a decision making process in a life of a Christian who strives for perfection.
Prior to Vladyka Daniel’s arrival – the Ukie Olympics concluded yet another year of spiritual and physical fun activities at the Camp. Later in the day the campers took part in a great presentation on Christian Stewardship, led by Very Rev. Fr. Robert Holet.
Teenage Conference is a program for teenagers 13 -18 and will take place next year from July 9th – 22nd. For more information contact the Office of Youth & Young Adult Ministry at uocyouth@aol.com. The third session of our camping ministry, Mommy & Me/Daddy & Me begins on August 1st.
