On Saturday, March 7, 2026, His Eminence Archbishop Daniel, spiritual father of the Western European Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Diaspora, participated in the 31st Session of the Assembly of Orthodox Bishops in Germany, which convened at the Serbian Orthodox Church dedicated to Saint Sava in Düsseldorf. The gathering brought together hierarchs representing the various canonical Orthodox jurisdictions present in Germany, reflecting the shared commitment of the Orthodox Church to pastoral collaboration and ecclesiastical unity in the diaspora.

The session was presided over by the Chairman of the Assembly, Metropolitan Augustinosof Germany and Exarch of Central Europe of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. In his opening remarks,  Metropolitan Augustinos warmly welcomed the assembled hierarchs and emphasized the importance of continued dialogue, cooperation, and mutual support among the Orthodox Churches serving the faithful throughout Germany. His reflections highlighted the growing responsibility of Orthodox hierarchs to respond pastorally to the needs of both long-established Orthodox communities and the many newly arrived faithful who have settled in the country in recent years.

During the course of the meeting, the bishops engaged in thoughtful discussion concerning a number of important aspects of contemporary ecclesial life. Particular attention was given to questions of pastoral ministry, the organization of parish life, the spiritual care of Orthodox families, and the strengthening of cooperation among Orthodox communities. The hierarchs reflected upon both the challenges and the opportunities that arise within the context of a multicultural and multi-confessional society. In this environment, the Orthodox Church in Germany is called not only to preserve the sacred traditions of the faith, but also to offer a living and dynamic witness to the Gospel within the broader social and cultural landscape.

The hierarchs further reaffirmed the importance of maintaining visible unity among Orthodox Christians in Germany, recognizing that many faithful encounter the Orthodox Church through the witness of diverse jurisdictions serving side by side. Through regular dialogue, coordinated pastoral initiatives, and shared ecclesial efforts, the Assembly continues to strengthen the bonds of cooperation that allow the Orthodox Church to present a unified and faithful witness to the Gospel of Christ.

The meeting concluded in an atmosphere of brotherly fellowship, prayerful reflection, and mutual understanding. The participating bishops reaffirmed their commitment to further developing cooperation among the Orthodox Churches in Germany and to strengthening the spiritual life of the Orthodox faithful entrusted to their pastoral care.

Such gatherings of the Assembly of Orthodox Bishops serve as an important expression of conciliarity and unity within the Orthodox Church, allowing hierarchs from diverse traditions and backgrounds to work together for the spiritual well-being of the faithful. архієпископ Даниїл взяв участь у XXXI засіданні Асамблеї Православних Єпископів у Німеччині

У суботу, 7 березня 2026 року Божого, Його Високопреосвященство архієпископ Даниїл, духовний отець Західно-Європейської єпархії Української Православної Церкви в Діаспорі, взяв участь у XXXI засіданні Асамблеї Православних Єпископів у Німеччині, яке відбулося в Сербській Православній Церкві на честь святителя Сави Сербського в місті Дюссельдорф. У зібранні взяли участь ієрархи, які представляють різні канонічні православні юрисдикції, присутні в Німеччині, що стало свідченням спільного прагнення Православної Церкви до пастирської співпраці та церковної єдності в діаспорі.

Засідання очолив голова Асамблеї - митрополит Німеччини та екзарх Центральної Європи Вселенського Патріархату, митрополит Августин. У своєму вступному слові митрополит Августин тепло привітав присутніх ієрархів та наголосив на важливості подальшого діалогу, співпраці та взаємної підтримки між Православними Церквами, які служать вірним по всій Німеччині. У своїх роздумах він підкреслив зростаючу відповідальність православних архієреїв відповідати на пастирські потреби як давніх православних громад, так і багатьох новоприбулих вірних, які оселилися в країні протягом останніх років.

Під час засідання єпископи провели змістовні обговорення низки важливих питань сучасного церковного життя. Особливу увагу було приділено питанням пастирського служіння, організації парафіяльного життя, духовної опіки над православними родинами, а також зміцненню співпраці між православними громадами. Ієрархи розмірковували над викликами та можливостями, які постають у контексті багатокультурного та багатоконфесійного суспільства. У таких умовах Православна Церква в Німеччині покликана не лише зберігати священні традиції віри, але й свідчити про Євангеліє живим і діяльним свідченням у ширшому соціальному та культурному середовищі.

Ієрархи також знову наголосили на важливості видимої єдності православних християн у Німеччині, усвідомлюючи, що багато людей пізнають Православ’я через свідчення різних юрисдикцій, які служать поруч одна з одною. Завдяки регулярному діалогу, узгодженим пастирським ініціативам та спільним церковним зусиллям Асамблея продовжує зміцнювати зв’язки співпраці, що дозволяє Православній Церкві давати єдине і вірне свідчення Євангелія Христового.

Засідання завершилося в атмосфері братнього спілкування, молитовних роздумів та взаєморозуміння. Учасники підтвердили своє прагнення й надалі розвивати співпрацю між Православними Церквами в Німеччині та підтримувати духовне життя православних вірян, довірених їхній пастирській опіці.

Подібні зустрічі Асамблеї Православних Єпископів є важливим виявом соборності та єдності Православної Церкви, оскільки дають можливість ієрархам різних традицій та походження спільно працювати задля духовного добра вірних. Через діалог, спільне пастирське бачення та взаємну повагу Асамблея продовжує сприяти розвитку православного життя в Німеччині, допомагаючи вірним залишатися непохитними у православній вірі та свідчити про живу присутність Христа у сучасному світі.
