BANDURA CAMP IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!

The Kobzarska Sich Bandura Camp, and the Sacred Music Workshop at Kobzarska Sich, will be here before you know it. 
This year, Kobzarska Sich is celebrating its 30th anniversary!

Kobzarska Sich is a summer musical experience devoted to learning bandura and Ukrainian choral music. Kobzarska Sich is held at All Saints Camp in Emlenton, PA

We're looking forward to an exciting program with Oleh Sozansky and Taras Lazurkevych as co-Musical Directors of Bandura Camp. Oleh and Taras have taught at Kobzarska Sich in recent years, and have also toured together as the Bandurna Rozmova duet throughout the United States the last three years. Taras and Oleh bring a wealth of experience from Ukraine.  We're very excited to have them as co-Musical Directors at Kobzarska Sich 2009.

We've been very pleased with the results of the Sacred Music Workshop. More people are looking to attend this year and continue to inquire about future programs. I'm pleased to announce that Protodeacon Ihor Mahlay and Oleh Mahlay will be returning as instructors of the Sacred Music Workshop.

BANDURA PROGRAMS       

Bandura Course   August 8 - 22
Over seven hours of daily instruction in:  the technique of playing bandura, bandura history, solo and ensemble playing and singing, music lectures, elementary music theory (as needed).  There will be free time for sport, swimming, and relaxation.
This course is designed for teenaged children (12 and older) and adults of all ages.

Bandura Workshop          August 8 - 16
This workshop covers the basics of playing bandura and bandura history. Participants are introduced to ensemble playing and singing, music lectures, elementary music theory (as needed).  There will be free time for sport, swimming, and relaxation.
This workshop is designed for children ages 9 - 11

UKRAINIAN SACRED MUSIC WORKSHOP      August 12 - 16
This is the newest workshop offered at Kobzarska Sich. This workshop provides an opportunity to sing sacred works by Ukrainian master composers and provides practical pointers for church singers, cantors, and conductors alike relative to common areas of church singing.  Listening lectures will open up many hidden aspects of sacred music tradition. There will be free time for sport, swimming, and relaxation.
This course is designed for older teenagers (ages 15 and older) and adults of all ages.
